Studio Wildcard has released an updated content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, detailing nearly two years of planned updates for the game. ARK: Survival Ascended, the remastered version of the popular survival crafting game ARK: Survival Evolved, was launched in early access in late November 2023. Since then, Studio Wildcard has been consistently rolling out new content for the game.
On January 11, the developer from Redmond, Washington, shared their roadmap that extends until late 2026. The first update on the agenda is not a content drop but a technical patch that will upgrade ARK: Survival Ascended to Unreal Engine 5.5. This upgrade is expected to bring significant performance improvements. Additionally, Studio Wildcard plans to reintroduce support for Nvidia's frame generation around this time, which had been removed in the latter half of 2024 due to issues related to the engine.
ARK: Survival Ascended Content Roadmap for 2025–2026
| Period | Content |
|---|---|
| March 2025 | ASA Unreal Engine 5.5 update. |
| April 2025 | Free Ragnarok Ascended, Bison (Free Creature), and a Fantastic Tame. |
| June 2025 | A new premium map (to be announced). |
| August 2025 | Free Valguero Ascended with a community-voted free creature, and Fantastic Tame. |
| April 2026 | Free Genesis Ascended Part 1 & Bob's True Tales Part 1. |
| August 2026 | Free Genesis Ascended Part 2 & Bob's True Tales Part 2. |
| December 2026 | Free Fjordur Ascended with a community-voted free creature. |
| 2026 | 3 Fantastic Tames spread throughout the year. |
The UE5 update will also continue Studio Wildcard's efforts to restructure the game's data, allowing players to download ARK: Survival Ascended DLC packs individually. This approach aims to reduce the game's install size. Following the update, new content is slated for April 2025, which will include a Fantastic Tame and a free Bison creature.
A new paid DLC map is scheduled for June 2025, with details to be revealed in the coming months, possibly in early spring. In August 2025, another Fantastic Tame and a community-voted free creature will be added to the game.
In 2026, Studio Wildcard will focus on remastering ARK: Survival Evolved's Genesis expansions. Genesis: Part 1 is set to launch in April 2026, followed by Part 2 in August 2026. Both releases will coincide with the launch of one part of Bob's True Tales, a new content drop previously announced as part of the game's season pass. The remastered Fjordur map is planned as a free update in December 2026. Throughout 2026, three more Fantastic Tames will be introduced.
While the roadmap provides a broad overview, Studio Wildcard may have additional smaller updates planned for the next two years, indicating a comprehensive approach to the game's development and enhancement.
