New Batman Game in Development by Rocksteady Studios: Rumor

Authore: IsabellaUpdate:Apr 19,2025

According to acclaimed journalist Jason Schreier, the beloved studio Rocksteady is currently developing an exciting new single-player Batman game. While specifics are still under wraps, Schreier has not yet clarified whether this game will serve as a prequel, a continuation of the iconic Arkham saga, or an entirely new universe. However, an insider source has hinted that the project might be centered around Batman Beyond, immersing players in a futuristic Gotham. The studio's grand vision is reportedly to create a full-blown trilogy. Fans can look forward to the game launching on the next generation of consoles.

The Arkham series was celebrated for its stunning visuals, and a futuristic Gotham could become Rocksteady's most visually striking creation to date. The move to Batman Beyond also addresses a sensitive issue: the voice of Batman. Following the passing of the legendary Kevin Conroy in 2022, Rocksteady might choose to focus on characters like Terry McGinnis or Damian Wayne, a direction that Warner Bros. Montreal had previously considered for its canceled sequel to Batman: Arkham Knight.

Rocksteady's most recent endeavor, an online shooter, did not meet player expectations and ultimately flopped. The studio was forced to abandon its post-launch plans within a year, concluding the narrative abruptly with an animation that reversed some of the game's most controversial plot developments, revealing that fallen heroes were actually clones.

Now, Rocksteady is returning to what it does best, developing a new solo Batman adventure. However, insiders caution that this ambitious project is still several years away from reaching our screens.
