Idris Elba, star of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, envisions a Cyberpunk 2077 live-action film alongside Keanu Reeves. In a recent interview, Elba expressed his excitement about the possibility, stating that a live-action adaptation featuring himself and Reeves would be "Whoa."
A Night City Reunion?
Elba's enthusiasm stems from the potential synergy between his character, Solomon Reed, and Reeves' iconic Johnny Silverhand. This isn't their first collaboration; both actors appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The prospect of a Cyberpunk 2077 movie, bringing their characters together, is highly appealing to Elba.
This shared vision might not be entirely fanciful. Variety reported in October 2023 that a Cyberpunk 2077 live-action project is underway, with CD Projekt Red partnering with Anonymous Content. While updates have been scarce since the announcement, the success of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and The Witcher live-action series suggests a Cyberpunk 2077 adaptation is a strong possibility.
