Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Spooky Vote and Community Concerns
Destiny 2 players are gearing up for a chilling choice in the upcoming Festival of the Lost 2025. Bungie is offering two distinct armor sets for players to vote on: Slashers vs. Spectres, drawing inspiration from iconic horror figures. This year's event promises new loot, including the Slayer's Fang, alongside the narrative conclusion of Episode Revenant.
However, the excitement surrounding the new armor is tempered by growing concerns within the Destiny 2 community. Episode Revenant has been plagued by bugs and gameplay issues, impacting player enjoyment and leading to a decline in player numbers. While Bungie has addressed many of these problems, the overall sentiment towards the game's current state remains negative.
Bungie's announcement of the Festival of the Lost 2025 armor sets, featuring designs inspired by Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, the Babadook, La Llorona, and even Slenderman, came as a surprise to many, given the ongoing issues. The Slashers set includes Jason-inspired Titan and Ghostface-inspired Hunter armor, with a Scarecrow Warlock set. The Spectres set offers Babadook-themed Titan, La Llorona-themed Hunter, and Slenderman-themed Warlock armor.
The timing of the announcement – ten months before the event – has also raised eyebrows. Many players feel the focus should be on addressing the current state of the game and acknowledging the community's concerns regarding declining player engagement and persistent bugs. The hope is that Bungie will address these issues before the Festival of the Lost arrives in October, and that the return of the previously unavailable Wizard armor from the 2024 event (during Episode Heresy) will help to alleviate some of the current frustrations.
