Following the buzz around their new game, Project C4, ZA/UM has now revealed an exciting development: an official mobile version of the critically acclaimed Disco Elysium, tailored exclusively for Android users. The studio's mission is clear: to introduce the game to a fresh audience and provide current fans with a convenient, on-the-go gaming option. To make this accessible, ZA/UM will offer the first two chapters of Disco Elysium for free on mobile devices. Players can then choose to make a one-time payment to unlock the complete, ad-free experience.
ZA/UM emphasizes the importance of transparency and player choice in their approach. "We want players to make an informed decision about their potential purchase," the studio stated. They also highlighted their dual role as both creators and custodians of the Disco Elysium IP, underscoring their commitment to delivering a high-quality mobile experience.

Studio head Denis Havel shared an ambitious vision for the mobile version, aiming to appeal to the TikTok generation. "We intend to captivate the TikTok user with quick hits of compelling story, art, and audio, ultimately creating an all-new, deeply engaging form of entertainment," Havel explained. This approach aligns with the game's new features, including 360-degree scenes designed to immerse mobile players into the world of Revachol, and enhanced audio with full voiceover for a richer character experience.
The official description of the mobile version highlights its unique adaptation: "This is a total re-imagination of the award-winning, gripping psychological RPG Disco Elysium and designed to completely cater to the habits of today's mobile users. This story-rich adventure has been optimized for short play sessions, allowing players to dive in anytime, anyplace on their mobile devices."
Narrative Lead Chris Priestman described the mobile version as "what audiobooks wish they were," emphasizing its suitability for short bursts of play. The mobile release of Disco Elysium is scheduled for summer 2025 on Google Android.
It's important to note that while the studio name remains ZA/UM, the team behind this mobile adaptation differs significantly from the original Disco Elysium team. Numerous former ZA/UM members have left the studio since the game's initial release, and some are now working on spiritual successors to the beloved RPG.
