Japan Expansion for Ticket to Ride: Build Your Bullet Train Network!

Embark on a virtual train journey across Japan with the latest expansion for Ticket to Ride, brought to you by Marmalade Game Studio and Asmodee Entertainment. This digital version of the beloved board game introduces the Japan Expansion, available now on digital platforms.

Help Build the Train Network

For the first time, the iconic Japan map from the physical game has been digitized, but with a unique twist. Instead of solely focusing on building your own train empire, players now contribute to constructing a national Bullet Train network that benefits everyone. This cooperative element adds a new layer to the gameplay, where you can strategize to help—or not help—as much as you want. However, be warned: the game features a karma system. Neglecting your Bullet Train duties could cost you 20 points in the final tally, so a bit of teamwork is essential, even if you're planning some friendly sabotage.

The Japan Expansion also introduces two new characters to enrich the experience. Meet Nakanishi Kimiko, a travel blogger who loves exploring Japan's vibrant festival scene with her dog, and Moriyama Isamu, a gyōji or sumo referee, adding a touch of Japan's rich cultural heritage to the game beyond just trains and maps.

Ticket to Ride Has Upgraded Trains with the Japan Expansion

Enhance your collection with the addition of two new trains and carriages. The Ichi Eki Saki train, along with the Tsuki Sleeper carriage, is perfect for those seeking a more relaxed travel experience. For those who prefer speed and efficiency, the Isogaba Maware train and the Hayai carriage are your go-to choices.

As spring arrives, the Japan map in the expansion promises to deliver a delightful seasonal atmosphere. The Japan Expansion is available for download now, offering a fresh twist to your Ticket to Ride gameplay. You can find it on the Google Play Store.
