MGS Master Collection Vol. 2: MGS4 Remake on the Horizon?
Konami producer Noriaki Okamura recently spoke with IGN, dropping hints about the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) remake within Master Collection Vol. 2, alongside next-gen ports. While acknowledging the significant fan interest in bringing the PS3 exclusive to modern consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC), Okamura remained coy about specifics. He confirmed Konami's awareness of the demand but cited ongoing internal discussions about the series' future as the reason for withholding details.
The possibility of MGS4's inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2 has been a topic of much fan discussion. The successful launch of Master Collection Vol. 1 (featuring remastered versions of MGS 1-3 for various platforms including PC and Switch) has further fueled speculation.
Last year, placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline, adding weight to the rumors. IGN reported that these titles are strong contenders for inclusion in Vol. 2. Further fueling the speculation, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project on social media.
Despite these hints, Konami remains officially silent on the contents and plans for a potential MGS4 remake or port in Master Collection Vol. 2. The wait continues.
