How to Start The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Once you've navigated through the tutorial section of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* and entered the expansive open-world, your first step is to seek out the scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. Engaging with him will initiate The Lion’s Crest quest. Gaibl will present you with a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. Although you'll need to collect the materials on your own, you can forge this weapon at any blacksmith’s forge.

The Lion’s Crest Riddle Solution

The riddle you receive is quite poetic, stating:

*“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”*

To solve this riddle, you'll start at Trosky Castle where you'll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Exit the castle via the northern gates and continue north through the forest.

Keep following the road and watch the left side for rocky formations with crevices you can navigate through. Upon entering these crevices, you'll discover a cave with a chapel inside. Inspect the cross on the rock near the chapel to uncover the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour and two treasure maps to guide your next steps.

The first map directs you to continue west along the road past the chapel. At the crossroads, veer north into the woods to locate a wolf den. Search the trees just above the den to find a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.

Following the second map, you'll journey to the small outpost at Vidlak Pond. Take the path behind the fisherman’s house, and keep an eye out for a large rock formation along the cliffs. Ascend to these rocks to find a chest next to a cross, which holds your next reward.

The third map requires you to fast travel to Zhelejov and visit the tavern. Depart from the settlement, cross the two bridges towards Tachov, and immediately after the second bridge, take a small path leading to the river and forest. Follow this path to a hill where a large tree awaits. Examine the tree to discover some bones and a bag with the third piece of armour.
