If you miss it one year due to in-game commitments or forgetfulness, don't worry—you can participate the following year. This timing gives you plenty of opportunity to prepare your animals for the big day, ensuring they're in top condition to compete for the grand prize.
How to Win the Animal Festival in Fields of Mistria

The highlight of the Animal Festival is the main contest where you can enter up to two of your farm-raised animals—one small (like chickens, ducks, or rabbits) and one large (like cows, alpacas, or sheep). It's crucial that these animals are fully grown adults to be eligible for the contest.
How to Enter the Animal Festival Contest
To enter, head to the festival grounds in the town center and speak to Josephine at the front counter. She'll guide you to the two booths behind her where you can register your animals. Josephine also shares valuable tips on boosting your score:
- The more hearts your animal has, the higher your score will be. You can increase their hearts by petting or picking them up, feeding them, and allowing them time outside on sunny days.
