Niantic's Pokémon GO is gearing up for a major event run from August through September under the "Tales of Transformation" banner. The season kicks off with the Kanto Celebration soon. Read on for all the details!
What's Coming in the Tales of Transformation?
Launching first is the Kanto Celebration, running from September 2nd at 10:00 AM to September 7th at 8:00 PM local time in 2025. This event honors the iconic region where it all began. Look forward to encountering Chansey, Snorlax, Abra, and other classic Kanto Pokémon in the wild.
Event bonuses feature one guaranteed Candy XL for evolving any Pokémon, Mega Evolutions lasting three times longer, and double XP from spinning PokéStops. Evolving Ivysaur, Charmeleon, or Wartortle during this event will grant their final forms with exclusive Charged Attacks: Venusaur with Frenzy Plant, Charizard with Blast Burn, and Blastoise with Hydro Cannon.
The overarching Tales of Transformation season spans from September 2nd to December 2nd, 2025. It marks the debut of Keldeo in its Resolute Form. Trainers who already have Keldeo can continue strengthening their bond with it to earn more Candy.
Mega Evolutions are a highlight, with Sharpedo, Camerupt, and Metagross making their Mega debut in special Raid Days. The season also introduces new Pokémon like Dipplin and Hydrapple to the game for the very first time.
In battles, get ready for Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon. Gigantamax Garbodor and Dynamax Duraludon are teased as formidable raid bosses. Team GO Rocket also returns with Shadow Groudon appearing in Shadow Raids for the first time, coinciding with Giovanni's comeback.
Additional Exciting Events on the Horizon
From September 9th to 14th, Pokémon GO will host a crossover event with Netflix's stop-motion series, Pokémon Concierge. This event features the debut of Psyduck wearing a swim ring, along with its Shiny variant. Sealeo and Shinx will also be appearing more frequently in the wild.
