Rumor: Switch 2 Leak Reveals Possible Joy-Con Images

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons Leaked: Magnetic Connection and New Design Revealed

New images circulating online strongly suggest a design for the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con controllers. While the Switch continues to receive new game releases in 2025, the anticipation for its successor is building, especially with Nintendo's confirmed announcement before the end of their 2024 fiscal year. Rumors surrounding the Switch 2 are intensifying as a March 2025 launch date is widely speculated.

Numerous leaks have attempted to detail the Switch 2's specifications and features. Recent leaks, purportedly from reliable third-party developers and insiders, have provided what are claimed to be accurate images of the console itself. Details about the Joy-Con's return and color schemes have also emerged. Now, a new set of images, shared on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit, offer the clearest look yet at the purported Switch 2 Joy-Cons.

Posted by user SwordfishAgile3472, the images, reportedly sourced from a Chinese social media platform, show the back and side of a left Joy-Con. These images have been widely shared across social media, seemingly validating previous rumors of a magnetic connection system. Instead of the physical rail system of the original Switch, these Joy-Cons appear to utilize magnets for attachment and detachment.

A Closer Look at the Leaked Joy-Cons:

The leaked images reveal a predominantly black Joy-Con with blue accents, reminiscent of the original Switch's color scheme, but with a reversed color emphasis. The images also hint at a modified button layout, including noticeably larger "SL" and "SR" buttons, and a previously unseen third button on the back. This third button is speculated to be a release mechanism for the magnetic connection. The overall design aligns with other recent leaks and mockups of the Switch 2 console.

While these leaks offer compelling evidence, official confirmation awaits Nintendo's own unveiling of the Nintendo Switch 2.
