Seedsow Lullaby, a new visual novel by Aniplex, is now available worldwide for Android. The Japanese studio, known for titles like Adabana Odd Tales, delivers a time-twisting narrative that spans three generations of a single family.
Seedsow Lullaby: A Deeply Emotional Journey
At its core, the game explores the enduring bonds of family. The story follows a girl joined by her mother from the past, her daughter from the future, and a guide who identifies as her unborn brother.
The protagonist is 16-year-old Misuzu, who lost her mother when she was young. In 2023, she is unexpectedly visited by Yoko, a girl who claims to be her mother. Yoko, also 16, has traveled from the year 1996.
Yoko explains that Misuzu has been chosen to participate in the Seedsow Ceremony—a funeral for the gods. They must complete this ritual to halt the spread of True Winter, a malevolent spirit overtaking the divine realm.
Misuzu is then thrust forward to 2050, where she meets her own 16-year-old daughter, Tsumugi. They are accompanied by Hiruko, a boy who says he is Yoko's miscarried son and Misuzu's little brother who was never born.
The ceremony must be performed in the Eternal Realm, the breathtaking home of the gods filled with vibrant landscapes. This forms the foundation of Seedsow Lullaby's captivating premise.
An Experience akin to a Japanese Animated Film
The game's standout features are its compelling story and stunning artwork. As the characters journey from one location to the next, the diverse and richly detailed backgrounds immerse you in their adventure. The visual style is truly beautiful, evoking the feel of a high-quality Japanese animation.
While it's a visual novel, the experience is linear with no branching choices or paths. Currently, the game supports English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese. It is free to play and available for download on the Google Play Store.
