If you've visited theaters recently to catch A Minecraft Movie, you likely remember Jack Black's brief but memorable musical moment celebrating the "lava chicken" scene around the film's midpoint.

Black, portraying Steve, performs a 34-second track titled Lava Chicken as Jason Momoa and other cast members watch a chicken get cooked by falling lava. Despite its brevity, the song has exploded in popularity across social platforms.

The track has now made history by debuting at No. 21 on the UK's official music chart, becoming the shortest song ever to chart. "Streaming and viral trends are redefining what constitutes a hit," noted ERA, the UK's digital entertainment trade body.

Black has previous experience with viral gaming-related music. His 95-second ballad Peaches from The Super Mario Bros. Movie - a love song by Bowser to Princess Peach - previously charted on the Billboard Hot 100. This marked Black's first solo entry on the prestigious chart, having previously reached No. 78 as part of comedy duo Tenacious D with their 2006 track The Pick of Destiny.

Other notably short charting songs include 2007's Spider Pig (64 seconds) from The Simpsons Movie and Liam Lynch's 2002 punk track United States of Whatever (86 seconds).

The lava chicken phenomenon isn't the only viral element from A Minecraft Movie. Social media platforms like TikTok have been flooded with clips showing enthusiastic fans - some even bringing live chickens to screenings.

A Minecraft Movie continues to break records, recently crossing $700 million in global box office revenue and on track to become the highest-grossing video game adaptation in history. Behind-the-scenes revelations, like the production team's private Minecraft server, have added to the film's cultural impact.
