Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced the launch of Absolum—an exhilarating fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. Set in the ravaged world of Talamh, the narrative unfolds in the aftermath of a devastating magical cataclysm. The residents of Talamh, gripped by fear of magic, are manipulated by the tyrannical King-Sun Azra, who uses his Crimson Order to enslave mages. Against this backdrop, a courageous band of heroes emerges to challenge his rule. This group includes the necromancer Galandra, the rebel gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr.
Players diving into Absolum will experience high-octane action, featuring upgradable abilities, potent combos, and enchanting magical spells. The game accommodates both solo adventurers and cooperative play, allowing players to merge their attacks and synchronize their strikes for devastating effects.
Elevating the gaming experience, Absolum's soundtrack is being composed by a trio of legendary artists: Gareth Coker, renowned for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, celebrated for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the mastermind behind the soundscapes of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Mark your calendars for 2025, as Absolum is slated for release on PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Get ready to embark on a thrilling journey in the world of Talamh, where every battle counts and every hero's story matters.
