TMNT: The Last Ronin II - Re-Evolution #5 is penned by the legendary duo Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz, with stunning artwork by Ben Bishop, Isaac Escorza, and Esau Escorza.
Here's the official synopsis from IDW for issue #5:
The second installment in the legendary Last Ronin saga reaches its fiery and climactic conclusion! As New York's streets erupt into all-out war, no one is safe. Casey, April, Odyn, Yi, Moja, and Uno find themselves in the crosshairs. Will they all make it out alive? Their fate rests in the hands of iconic writers Kevin Eastman & Tom Waltz as this chapter of The Last Ronin draws to a close.
In a 2024 interview with IGN, Kevin Eastman shared insights into their approach to the characters: "One of the things we wanted to do was really update the characters. There are two male and two female Turtle characters, and Tom and I have tried to capture what teenagers might think, say, and do. There's a nice cross-section of different personalities, much like the original Turtles. You want them to always love their family, but not always like them. They might argue, spat, or have disagreements, but when it's time to work together as a team, it's the heart and soul of the family that keeps them united. And that's the foundation of anything we do with the Turtles."
