ZhiZhu! - The Spider™ takes a minute to learn, but a lifetime to master.

Description:

ZhiZhu! - The Spider™ is a modern, more engaging evolution of the ancient board game "Nine Men's Morris".

Game Contents:

1 Spiderweb board, 9 white Spiders, and 9 black Spiders.

START: Player A begins with 9 White Spiders, Player B with 9 Black Spiders, and the board is initially empty.

GOAL: The objective is to capture your opponent's Spiders that have been placed on the board.

How to Capture Your Opponent's Spiders?

Capture opponent Spiders by forming aligned chains:

SMALL CHAIN: 3 Spiders aligned on any of the 8 straight lines.

BIG CHAIN: 5 Spiders aligned on any of the 3 circles.

Gameplay consists of TWO PHASES:

PHASE 1 – Placement:

Players take turns placing their 9 Spiders, one at a time, on any of the 24 vacant locations on the Spiderweb.

Chains (Small or Big) formed during this phase allow the capturing of 1 or 2 Spiders accordingly.

PHASE 2 – Sliding Movement:

Once all Spiders are placed, players alternate sliding one Spider to an adjacent empty location on the Spiderweb (left, right, up, or down from its current position).

Capturing Pieces:

Forming a Small Chain (3 aligned Spiders) allows the player to immediately capture one Spider from the opponent's Spiders on the board.

Creating a Big Chain (5 aligned Spiders) lets the player capture two Spiders from the opponent's Spiders.

Important Notes:

Players cannot capture Spiders that are already part of a Small or Big Chain, unless no loose Spiders are available.

A new chain is only valid if it includes at least one Spider that has been slid into a new position—repeating the same chain with identical Spiders in the same locations does not count.

A valid new chain requires at least one Spider that has been moved into the formation.

Winning:

The first player to capture 7 of the opponent's Spiders wins.

A player may also win if the opponent concedes, believing recovery and victory are no longer possible.
