Russian Checkers 8×8

In Russian checkers, the game begins with white moving first. Pieces move diagonally on dark squares, and capturing an opponent's piece is mandatory if possible. Both forward and backward captures are allowed. Kings have the freedom to move and capture along any diagonal. The Turkish strike rule applies, meaning you can only capture one of your opponent's pieces per move. If multiple capture options exist, you can choose any, not necessarily the longest. A piece reaching the opponent's back rank becomes a king and can immediately move as a king if the opportunity arises.

A draw is declared under several conditions, including:

• If a player with checkers and three or more kings against one opponent's king fails to capture the opponent's king within 15 moves after the balance of forces is established.
• In king-only positions, if no captures or promotions occur within 30 moves for 4-5 piece endings, or 60 moves for 6-7 piece endings.
• If a player with three pieces (in any combination of kings and checkers) against one opponent's king on the "high road" cannot capture the opponent's king within five moves.
• If only kings are moved for 15 consecutive moves without any captures or promotions.
• If the same position repeats three or more times with the same player to move.

International Checkers 10×10

International checkers also start with white moving first, with pieces moving on dark squares. Capturing is mandatory and can be done in both directions. Kings have the ability to move and capture along any diagonal. The Turkish strike rule is in effect, and the majority rule requires you to capture the maximum number of pieces if multiple options are available. A regular piece that reaches the opponent's back rank during a capture continues as a regular piece, but if it reaches the back rank by a regular move, it becomes a king and stops, playing as a king on its next turn.
