The success streak continues for Warhammer 40,000 creator Games Workshop, announcing a £20 million (~$27 million) staff bonus payout.

The UK-based Nottingham company behind the Warhammer tabletop franchise reported stellar financials for the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025:

  • Core revenue reached £560 million (up from £494.7 million)
  • Licensing revenue hit £50 million (up from £31 million)
  • Core profit totaled £210 million (up from £174.8 million)
  • Licensing profit achieved £45 million (up from £27 million)
  • Pre-tax profits reached £255 million (up from £203 million)

Citing these record earnings and recognizing staff contributions, Games Workshop increased its employee bonus pool to £20 million from last year's £18 million. Distributed equally among approximately 1,500 employees, each worker receives roughly £13,333 (~$18,000).

While miniature sales remain Games Workshop's core business, intellectual property ventures increasingly drive revenue. Recent successes include:

  • 2023's blockbuster Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
  • Amazon's Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level animation
  • Henry Cavill's upcoming Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe
  • Development underway for Space Marine 3

The company notes its current licensing revenue marks an all-time high that may not repeat in 2025/26, though this remains a strategic priority. With Warhammer's popularity at unprecedented levels and momentum continuing, Games Workshop shows no signs of slowing down.

The recent Warhammer Skulls showcase revealed exciting developments including Dawn of War Definitive Edition and Space Marine 2's Siege Mode.
