Application Description

Utilizing the ELM327 adapter, you can effectively read Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from various Suzuki control modules with the SZ Viewer A1 application. This software is specifically designed for Suzuki vehicles and employs both standard OBDII protocols and Suzuki-specific protocols via K-Line and CAN bus connections. This allows for the reading and resetting of not only standard but also extended and historical DTCs across a wide range of Suzuki control modules.

SZ Viewer A1 extends its compatibility to Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) Suzuki vehicles, which may not support OBDII protocols, ensuring broad coverage across different models. To ensure optimal performance, it is essential to use an ELM327 adapter (either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) that is version 1.3 or later. Beware of counterfeit adapters labeled as v2.1 or some v1.5 versions, as these do not support the necessary ELM327 commands required for this application.

It's important to note that the older SDL protocol, used in pre-2000 model year Suzuki vehicles (with 5V levels on pin #9 of the OBDII connector), is not supported due to physical incompatibility with the ELM327 adapter.

With SZ Viewer A1, you can access and reset DTC errors for numerous control modules, including but not limited to powertrain, engine, AT/CVT, ABS/ESP, SRS, AC/HVAC, BCM, PS, EMCD/4WD/AHL, and TPMS. However, not all modules might be present or supported on every Suzuki vehicle tested.

During diagnostic procedures, you might encounter DTCs such as B1504 or B150A from the HVAC module. These codes could appear due to insufficient illumination of the sunload sensor and do not necessarily indicate a malfunction of the sensor itself.
