inZOI, the latest offering from developer and publisher Krafton, has achieved a remarkable feat by selling 1 million copies in just one week. This milestone marks the fastest sales record for any game published by the South Korean giant. Launched on PC via Steam in Early Access on March 28, inZOI quickly captured the gaming community's attention, albeit not without some controversy. Shortly after its release, players discovered an unintended feature allowing them to run over and kill children in the game. Krafton promptly addressed this issue, labeling it an "unintended bug" and releasing a patch to rectify it.
Despite this initial hiccup, inZOI has garnered a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam. The game also achieved significant visibility on Twitch, peaking at 175,000 concurrent viewers and securing the third spot in the Games category. Its popularity soared even further when it reached the number one position on Steam’s Global Top Sellers List just 40 minutes after its launch.
The in-game user-generated content (UGC) platform, Canvas, also saw immense engagement, attracting over 1.2 million participants on launch day and hosting more than 470,000 pieces of content uploads. This demonstrates the vibrant community surrounding inZOI and its potential for creativity and interaction.
IGN's Early Access review of inZOI awarded it a 6/10, praising its visually striking design and ambitious scope but noting a lack of depth at this stage of development. Krafton credits its pre-launch promotional efforts and ongoing communication with the community as key factors in building trust and momentum leading up to the game's release. The inZOI global showcase and demo build were particularly successful in generating high interest, according to Krafton.
CEO CH Kim expressed gratitude and excitement about presenting inZOI to a global audience through Early Access, emphasizing the company's commitment to continued active communication with players and nurturing inZOI as a long-term franchise IP.

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to introduce new content through future updates, including mod support and new cities. All updates and DLC will be provided for free until the game's full release. In response to player feedback and reported issues, Krafton has committed to applying quick fixes through hotfixes throughout April. The company acknowledges the scale of inZOI's global community as a "next-level experience" and admits to navigating some "trial and error" in finding the best ways to communicate effectively with its players.
